When is your birthday?
Where do you live?
My hometown is Singer Island, Florida.
You were the pioneer of fashion for golf. What golf clothes do you wear now?
How come you don't wear your straw hats as much anymore?
I wear them as often as I can. However, when it's windy, they can be a distraction on the course, so I rely on my trusty ballcaps with either braids or a pony tail.
Are you married?
Yes, I was married to Jonathan Satter on May 29, 2010. You can read more about it here.
What's on your IPOD?
I have over 1600 songs on my iPod, and it is quite a variety.... 50 Cent, Eminem, Celine Dion, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, P Diddy, Ludicris, Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin, Barenaked Ladies.... And, of course, I listen to my good friend Darius from Hootie & the Blowfish!!
Who influenced your golf game the most?
Dave Stockton, Sara Noah, Jean Noah, Rich LeConche, Mike Adams and my parents.
How old were you when you joined the tour?
I joined the tour in 1988 at the ripe old age of 18!
How do you manage your diabetes?
Very carefully. I still encounter problems such as loss of feeling in my legs or arms. My trainer, JJ Stephenson, helps me maintain a steady balance of nutrition and exercise. In 1999, I began using an insulin pump to help me control and maintain my glucose levels. Even still, in 2005 I had to take the second half of the season off for medical reasons. I credit the Diabetes Research Instititute for helping me manage my disease and be a professional athlete simultaneously.
What do you do for fun?
Believe it or not, I love to travel! Even with so much time on the road, I still have fun going somewhere new, exploring new cities. Already this year, I have been to Hawaii and Mexico (twice!!) I also love shopping (I'm the queen of bargain hunting) and working out. But what most don't know is that I am the queen of scrapbooking!
What is your favorite charity?
Of course, based on my personal experience, I support anything to do with diabetes.
The Michelle McGann Fund is a donor-advised fund managed by the Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties, Florida. I have chosen the Community Foundation to manage this fund on my behalf. A community foundation is a tax-exempt public charity created by and for the people in a local area. It enables people with philanthropic interests to easily and effectively support the issues they care about - immediately or through their will or estate plan. The United States has more than 700 community foundations serving citizens in urban and rural communities in all 50 states. Collectively, community foundations hold more than $31 billion in assets and make local grants of approximately $2.6 billion annually.
As many of you know, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 13. While this has challenged me every day since, I have been fortunate to receive the support of a loving family, and first class medical care. The mission of The Michelle McGann Fund is to further the fine efforts of organizations like the Diabetes Research Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In addition, the Michelle McGann Fund will be dedicated to serving underprivileged children with diabetes. Funds will be distributed to help children diagnosed with this terrible disease. Together, you and I can bring some of the advantages I have enjoyed to other kids with diabetes. This might mean the purchase of insulin pump therapy equipment, or assistance in the development of physical education programs to encourage children to establish a healthy, active lifestyle right from the onset of their life. Undoubtedly it's these very things that have led me to accomplish the things I love.

What is your favorite food?
I must have Italian in my blood somewhere because I love spaghetti and meatballs.
What's in your purse?
First, let me preface this by saying, I have a VERY large purse! In it I have Costa del Mar sunglasses, my makeup bag (with Maybelline Volume Seduction Lip Gloss because it stays on well while I'm playing), my wallet just in case I spy a bargain, Skittles, Zone bars to keep my energy up if my blood sugar runs low, sugar free hard candy, Trident Sugar Free Splash gum, shoe horn for golf shoes, pictures of family and friends, rubber bands for hair, Propel water, Diet Coke (never leave home without that!), notebook to write my "to do" list, coupons for all occasions, ball cap if not already on, business cards, Canon camera (never know who you might run into!) and of course my Apple iPhone to stay in touch with everyone.
What's in your golf bag?
It's almost as full as my purse! In it is Titleist Pro V golf balls (3-4 sleeves), Nicklaus irons & Nicklaus Dual Point 8 degree driver, old school TaylorMade Burner Super Steel 3 wood, 16 degree TaylorMade Rescue Dual 2, Titleist Vokey Design 60 & 56 degree wedges, ProFound Ace series putter, FootJoy SciFlex gloves (3-5), One-Touch blood sugar machine & testing strips, michellemcgann.com tees -- pink and brown to match my bag, Cool Gear International EZ Freeze pack for my Zone bars to keep them cool when playing, Skittles, Trident Splash gum, my logo ball fixer, dollar coin to mark my ball, smiley face stencil with Sharpie dark pink marker on my golf balls, spare set of contact lenses, eye drops, Tylenol, yardage book and cover with pictures, lipstick color of the day... I'm sure there are a few things I am leaving out but this is all I can think of for now... like that isn't enough:)!
Who usually caddies for you?
In the past, I was very lucky to have my brother JC and my Dad, Bucky, caddy for me. It is great to have family with you who completely understands both my golf game and my health issues. Now, JC has a great job with an orthopedic implant company that keeps him very busy, but he still manages to caddy for me as much as his schedule permits. Otherwise, I rely on a core group of enthusiastic loyal friends/caddies who care about both my game AND me. As you can understand, this is a great supportive team - Team McGann.
