A few months ago, my friends at Medtronic called me because they had 2 extra tickets for the Jonas Brothers show in South Florida. After a quick call to JDRF Chapter here in West Palm Beach, we found the perfect recipient, Macey and her mother Janice.

The pictures that Janice forwarded are just priceless, and while Medtronic is the ones to thank for the tickets, I am very happy that we found Macey. Macey, 7, has diabetes like me and Nick Jonas (and I think she probably thinks the Jonas Bros. are cute too…I know I do!!) I know that having diabetes has been tough for her lately…so I am glad she got this special reward!

My favorite photo is the one below…it warms my heart to know that she had a great time at the concert!

Macey – I hope you know you can do whatever you want to do in your life! Whether it’s singing, dancing, or playing golf, just do it. You are just the same as everyone else, even better!

Thank you so much for this night. Macey & I will keep this special night with us always!! The Jonas Brothers are such talented young men and what they are doing for Juvenile Diabetes Awareness is incredible.
Macey met lots of new friend with Type 1 that night too. In the above picture she was having very sweet dreams and we thank you so much for them!! Macey’s Believers (JDRF Treasure Coast Walk Team) Believing in a Cure!

Thank you for your generosity! This family has not just struggled with diabetes, but other serious illnesses that are now thankfully under control. Yet through it all, Janice maintains a kind, generous, positive spirit that touches all of her friends and family. You may not know that your gift of these tickets could not have gone to a more deserving family. You made Macey’s dream come true, but as a mother and father, Janice and Reid’s dream come true for their daughter. As a mother myself, I know that those are the most important wishes to fulfill, those of our children. Thank you again!
